Guilt-Free Vegan Mince Pies
Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without the humble mince pie. Sweet, buttery shortcrust pastry filled with a juicy, spicy, fruity mixture and enjoyed, of course, with an obligatory glass or two of mulled wine. When it comes to the classics, there is to be no cutting of corners – that means no excuses, no store-bought nonsense, just good old fashioned, homemade goodies. So, whether you’re avoiding dairy, cutting down before the big day (Christmas!) or just after something a little less guilty, these vegan mince pies are what you’ve been looking for. They are honestly incredibly easy to make and seriously tasty to eat (win-win!)
We absolutely adore baking – that’s probably already pretty clear, right? But when we can pull off something as delicious as these vegan mince pies in a healthy way, well we’re pretty damn chuffed (patting ourselves on the back as we write this). But seriously though, Christmas is renowned for being a time of decadence and overindulgence and we just didn’t think it had to be that way. Surely there was a way to indulge without all the guilt and bloat that follows? With this recipe, we’ve omitted the alcohol (gasp), cut down the sugar and significantly reduced the fat content. Buuuuut still somehow managed something quite delectable!
It was so great to work with Skin Deep Exposures Magazine to produce this recipe and article and we couldn’t wait to share it with you. As well as the recipe and an article we wrote on ‘Surviving the Season of Overeating’, you’ll find some really great content covering health, beauty, lifestyle and more.
